Ibrahim Abdul-Matin is the author of Green Deen: What Islam Teaches About Protecting the Planet and is the founder and CEO of Green Squash Consulting, a management consulting firm based in New York that works with people, organizations, companies, coalitions, and governments committed to equity and justice. Ibrahim specializes in strategic planning, stakeholder management, and partnership development. Ibrahim is a Senior Fellow with Interfaith America and Senior Clean Power Fellow with New Yorkers for Clean Power. Ibrahim sits on the boards of Sapelo Square whose mission is to celebrate the experiences of Black Muslims in the United States; the Scherman Foundation, which seeks to build a more just, sustainable, and equitable New York; Green City Force, a powerhouse leadership training program for youth interested in building a green and inclusive economy; Collective Diaspora, a global initiative developing cooperatives throughout the African diaspora; the NYS Trust for Public Land, which uses policy and advocacy to build parks and protect land; the Union of Concerned Scientists and the International Living Future Institute. Ibrahim is an adjunct professor of public policy in the Marxe School of Public and International Affairs at Baruch College, his alma mater. Ibrahim also has a decorated NCAA Division 1 football career as linebacker at University of Rhode Island, 1997 NCAA Scholar Athlete of the Year and in 2011, URI blessed Ibrahim with the Martin Luther King Jr. Award for Outstanding Leadership and Contribution to the University Community for his work on and off the field.
